He <br /> said staff may have to come back to the Council and ask for approval <br /> for condemnation, a buyout, or some other action. <br /> D. Council Member Corbett said she has been contacted by constituents <br /> regarding whether or not the City has any lawn-blower ordinance and <br /> requested a report, what the options were on this matter, etc. <br /> E. Council Member Corbett said she attended a Broadmoor Neighborhood <br /> Association meeting, which the Police Chief and staff members also <br /> attended. She said an excellent presentation was given. She said <br /> there is a great deal of concern in the neighborhood, and the Police <br /> Chief assured everyone that everything that can be done is being done. <br /> She thanked the community for pulling together around issues and taking <br /> a positive attitude. <br /> F. Council Member Corbett said she attended the first "National Night Out" <br /> meeting at the Hagen's on Broadmoor, co-hosted by the McManuses, and <br /> thanked them for their hospitality. <br /> G. Council Member Corbett said she would be holding a Town Hall Meeting at <br /> the Library on August 19th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. to address issues, <br /> including the North Area Specific Plan. She said the Police Chief will <br /> be there. <br /> H. Council Member Corbett thanked Mr. Harder for his generosity. She said <br /> it is not true that people have not responded to him. She said Mayor <br /> Karp spent many hours with Mr. Harder, trying to assist him. She said <br /> the Police Department has been looking at issues raised regarding <br /> trucks. Kathy Ornelas has spent a lot of time with Mr. Harder, as have <br /> members of the City Council . She said people have tried to address his <br /> concerns. <br /> I . Mayor Faria said the Council attended the Broadmoor Neighborhood <br /> Association meeting and it was well attended. <br /> J. Council Member Kerr said he was sorry he was late to that meeting, but <br /> there was an accident on his street. He said he heard the City of <br /> Stockton is having a crime problem and will be hiring 13 Police <br /> Officers this year, 13 next year, and 13 the following year. He said, <br /> if San Leandro's Police Chief needs additional Officers, it is hoped he <br /> will ask. <br /> K. Council Member Kerr congratulated Mr. Filipovich regarding the loop- <br /> hole in the Charter. Council Member Kerr said he was Chairman of the <br /> • <br /> Measure G Committee, and it was the intent to require a full term out <br /> of office. He asked that a Measure be prepared to be placed on the <br /> April ballot to correct the language, so that a full four years out of <br /> office would be required; and, if someone were elected to a second <br /> term, they would be required to sit out a full term before they could <br /> run again. <br />
