Clevenger of the Planning Commission's Denial of A-93-3 and PD-93-4; A-93-3; Reclassification; to Re-Zone from R-1 (Single Family) District to R-1 - PDC (Single Family - Planned Development Combining) District; and PD- 93-4, GDP; Planned Unit Development, General Development Plan; to Construct 22-Unit Townhouse Condominiums; 14969 Washington Avenue; Assessor's Parcel Numbers 77B-1120-1-1 and 5; Michael A. Clevenger; R-1 (Single Family) District. (1099/1009) On motion by Council Member Corbett, who moved its approval , seconded by Council Member Nahm, and carried by the following called vote, the City Council continued the matter of Appeal by Michael A. Clevenger of the Planning Commission's Denial of A-93-3 and PD-93-4 to the February 7, 1994, City Council Meeting. AYES: Council Members Corbett, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa; Mayor Faria ( 6 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: Council Member Kerr ( 1 ) B. Matter of Zoning Code Map. This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, the City Clerk noted letters had been received from: -- Douglas T. Federighi , Williams Street Investments, 1051 MacArthur Boulevard (dated December 2, 1993) ; -- Sandra Nielsen, 2100 Lewelling Boulevard (dated December 2, 1993) ; - Lubos Dodecky, 271 Begier Avenue (dated December 6, 1993) ; Mayor Faria noted Mr. Federighi and Ms. Neilsen had called him, and he had referred them to Mr. Emslie. Steve Emslie, Planning Manager, said this is the culmination of a multi-year process which completely revised the Zoning Code and Map covering the entire City. He thanked everyone involved in the project for their hard work. He said, in April 1992, the City Council approved the Zoning Code text. Since then, staff has been working on remapping the City. He discussed the criteria applied in the remapping, including protection of single- family neighborhoods, a realistic look at multi-family district density, the North Area Specific Plan, commercial zoning, and issues of economic development.
