Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - February 22, 1994 Page - 7 -
PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued)
B. A-94-1 ; Reclassification; Rezone of Sandev Mobile Home Park from RM-
2500 (Residential Multiple-Family with a Density of 1 Unit Per 2,500
Square Feet of Lot Area) District to RM-1800 (Residential Multiple-
Family with a Density of 1 Unit per 1 ,800 Square Feet of Lot Area)
District; the Rezoning Will Not Impact the Existing Mobile Home Park;
2100 Lewelling Boulevard; Assessor's Parcel Number 80G-1098-001-02.
This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above
matter, Steve Emslie, Planning Manager, said this re-zoning is a
follow-up item from the City Council 's Hearing on the Zoning Map. He
said Council directed that staff hold a Hearing before the Planning
Commission to change the zoning from RM-2500 to RM-1800, as requested
by Mrs. Nielsen, the property owner. He said the Planning Commission
held the Hearing and recommended that the City Council adopt the re-
zoning.
In response to questions from the City Council , he said any project
that would be proposed on the site would be required to go through a
Planned Development process. He said this re-zone would reduce the
minimum lot width from 100 to 75 feet.
Council Member Kerr noted that mobilehomes are under control of the
Housing and Community Development Department and asked if they were
concerned about zoning. Mr. Emslie said the re-zoning did not change
the existing use of the property; it simply changed the designation on
the Zoning Map.
The Hearing was then opened to the public.
Sandra Nielsen, 2100 Lewelling Boulevard, one of the owners of the
property, said they agree with the recommendations of the Planning
Department. She said they do not have any plans to do anything with
the property at this time; they just want a higher density.
There being no further comments from the public, on motion of Council
Member Myers, seconded by Council Member Kerr, and carried unanimously,
the Public Hearing was closed.
