• <br /> Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - September 19, 1994 Page - 7 - <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) <br /> The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> Resolution No. 94-185, Resolution Accepting the Community Development <br /> Block Grant Program (CDBG) Grantee Performance Report (GPR) for Fiscal <br /> Year 1993-94 and Authorizing Submission Thereof by the City Manager <br /> (reports on the 1993-94 CDBG activities and provides for acceptance of <br /> the CDBG Annual Performance Report and submission to HUD) . (2096) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Perry, who moved its adoption, seconded by <br /> Council Member Galvan, and carried by a majority vote (7) . <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Myers congratulated the San Leandro teams who played in <br /> the PAL tournament at San Leandro High School ; Gary's Troop, in the 9 <br /> to 11-year-old age range, coached by Autrey James, and Ricky's Posse, <br /> coached by Dan Paiva, which won first place. He noted 180 children <br /> participated, up from 80 last year. <br /> B. Council Member Loeffler said the East Bay Division held a good meeting, <br /> and he was impressed with the compliments to the San Leandro library <br /> system. <br /> C. Council Member Loeffler commended the San Leandro Times for the recent <br /> article regarding East 14th Street and for keeping the community <br /> connected around these issues. <br /> D. Council Member Loeffler noted an increase in youths using skateboards <br /> and roller blades and asked if the City Council felt a place should be <br /> set aside for them. Mayor Corbett referred this matter to the <br /> Community Services Committee. <br /> E. Council Member Kerr spoke regarding his recent vacation to New Zealand. <br /> He discussed some of the public facilities he visited there and <br /> discussed a variety of traffic control measures used in Tasmania. <br /> F. Council Member Galvan commended Christine Scobee for her letter and for <br /> her positive solutions and ideas. He encouraged staff to look into her <br /> suggestions and report on them. <br /> G. Council Member Galvan said, if word gets out on the stolen plaque, <br /> perhaps it will be returned or donations will be made. <br /> H. Council Member Galvan noted an increase in graffiti . The City Manager <br /> said this is a normal occurrence when school commences each year, and <br /> the Community Standards Section is working on it. <br />
