She noted they sent a <br /> survey with Alameda's electrical bills and suggested it go to <br /> homeowners' groups, etc. , in San Leandro. <br /> G. Approval of Work Session Items Requiring Action. <br /> None <br /> H. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> Assistant City Attorney, Steve Mattas, reported that no action was <br /> taken. <br /> 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Matter of Notice of Intent to Adopt Condemnation Resolution for the <br /> Property at the Northerly Corner of Washington Avenue and Halcyon <br /> Drive, from the Southern Pacific Transportation Company, for the <br /> Washington Avenue/Halcyon Drive Intersection Improvement Project <br /> (authorizes City to acquire subject properties by eminent domain) . <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br /> matter, Rob Caughell , Administrative Assistant, Development Services <br /> Department, said the Resolution of Necessity authorizes the City <br /> Attorney to file eminent domain for the southerly corner of Washington <br /> Avenue and Halcyon Drive owned by Southern Pacific Transportation <br /> Company. He described the parcel to be acquired and the proposed <br /> street widening and landscaping projects. <br /> The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked if the property will be in <br /> the Redevelopment Agency and whether a maintenance and lighting <br /> assessment district will be formed. He asked if SPRR has a spur track <br /> in the area and why it is necessary to do eminent domain. <br /> There being no further comments from the public, on motion of Council <br /> Member Perry, seconded by Council Member Loeffler, and carried by a <br /> majority vote (7) , the Public Hearing was closed. <br />
