Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - March 5, 1992 Page - 11 -
PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued)
Mr. Burdick said this is not Mr. Hathaway's petition; it has been filed
with the Clerk. He said he did not agree that the City Council had no
power to mediate and suggest alternatives at this point.
Mr. Meyers said the City Council 's third option was to table the
matter. He said this would provide an opportunity to direct the City's
negotiating team to do something other than that which had been done
this evening. He reiterated that the City Council could select Motion
#1 or Motion #2, or could table the matter. He said tabling the matter
would preclude the Council 's ability to place a companion measure on
the June ballot but would not preclude their ability to direct further
negotiations or change of language.
On motion by Council Member Glaze, seconded by Council Member Santos,
with Council _Member. Perry _.voting .
