Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - March 16, 1992 Page - 14 - <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) <br /> Steve Meyers said one option was for the City Council to' adopt the new <br /> provisions for the I-2 zoning ordinance, as will be proposed in the <br /> Zoning Code, now, as they have for the S Overlay Space. He said if <br /> they wish to do so the Planning Commission would be required to hold a <br /> Public Hearing and then the recommendation would come to the City <br /> Council from the Planning Commission. <br /> Council Member Santos moved to uphold the Appeal by East Bay Leasing <br /> Corporation and to overturn the Planning Commission's denial of A-89-02 <br /> and to rezone the property from I-P to I-2. <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 92-22 (1099) <br /> MATTER OF APPEAL BY <br /> EAST BAY LEASING CORPORATION OF <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION DENIAL OF A-89-02 <br /> AMENDMENT; TO RE-ZONE A 6. 1-ACRE PARCEL FROM I-P (INDUSTRIAL PARK) <br /> TO I-2 (GENERAL INDUSTRIAL) <br /> 2575 WILLIAMS STREET <br /> On motion by Council Member Santos, who moved its approval , seconded by Council <br /> Member Faria, and carried by the following called vote, the City Council upheld <br /> the Appeal by East Bay Leasing Corporation of the Planning Commission's Denial <br /> of A-89-02 and approved the rezoning of 2575 Williams Street from I-P (Industrial <br /> Park) to I-2 (General Industrial ) . <br /> AYES: Council Members Faria, Glaze, Polvorosa, Santos; Mayor Karp ( 5 ) <br /> NOES: Council Members Corbett and Perry ( 2 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> B. Matter of Appeal by William H. Kerry of the Revocation of the Zoning <br /> Approval , ZA-91-01, for Best Transport, Inc. , and Ruan Leasing Company <br /> for Expansion of a Legal , Non-Conforming Use, in Violation of the <br /> Zoning Code; 1791 Neptune Drive; Assessor's Parcel Number 79A-541-36; <br /> I-P Zoning District. Continued from the February 18, 1992, City <br /> Council Meeting. <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br /> matter, June Catalano, Planning and Building Department Director, said <br /> the matter before the City Council is an Appeal of the revocation of <br /> zoning approval . She said, as in the report on the previous Public <br /> Hearing, an option would be to create a Specific Plan and to <br /> incorporate desired standards into the Plan. She said another option <br /> would be to rezone the area to I-2. She said staff recommends the <br /> current use be allowed to continue for nine months and the zoning of <br /> the property remain I-P. She said staff would work with the tenants to <br /> find a new location. <br />
