Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - March 16, 1992 Page - 17 - <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 92-23 (2167) <br /> MATTER OF APPEAL BY <br /> WILLIAM H. KERRY OF THE <br /> REVOCATION OF THE ZONING APPROVAL OF ZA-91-01 <br /> FOR BEST TRANSPORT, INC. , AND RUAN LEASING COMPANY <br /> FOR EXPANSION OF A LEGAL, NON-CONFORMING USE <br /> IN VIOLATION OF THE ZONING CODE <br /> 1791 NEPTUNE DRIVE <br /> On motion by Council Member Santos, who moved its approval , seconded by Council <br /> Member Faria, and carried by the following called vote, the City Council directed <br /> the Planning Commission to commence proceedings to study the rezoning of this <br /> property from I-P to I-2 and, pending that study and recommendation to the City <br /> Council , the Appeal of ZA-91-01 is tabled indefinitely. <br /> AYES: Council Members Faria, Perry, Santos; Mayor Karp ( 4 ) <br /> NOES: Council Members Corbett, Glaze, and Polvorosa ( 3 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> Steve Meyers asked the City Council if it was their intention for all <br /> parcels in the westerly side of Neptune Drive between Williams Street <br /> and the Reynolds and Brown property to be included in the review or <br /> just one parcel . <br /> The City Council said it was their intention for the whole area to be <br /> included. <br /> C. Matter of PD-75-03 GDP/PDP (9th Modification) ; Planned Development <br /> Approval to Expand and Remodel the Existing K-Mart Store, Including <br /> Relandscaping the Shopping Center Site; 250 Floresta Boulevard; <br /> Southwest Corner of Floresta Boulevard and Washington Avenue; <br /> Assessor's Parcel Number 77B-1139-6, 7 and 8; HMR Architects, Inc. , for <br /> K-Mart Corporation; N (Nursery) District. <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br /> matter, Norm Weisbrod, Associate Planner, said the subject property is <br /> located at the corner of Floresta Boulevard and Washington Avenue. He <br /> said the original K-Mart development was approved in 1976 as a Planned <br /> Unit Development and was constructed in 1977. He said, as part of the <br /> Planned Development, two other sites, now occupied by Orchard Supply <br /> and a smaller, commercial building with a restaurant, cleaners, and a <br /> shoe store, were also developed. He showed a Site Plan and said K-Mart <br /> proposes a 7,700 square-foot addition to the site in the area that now <br /> houses the Garden Shop. He said this would be an expansion of the <br /> retail sales area and would provide additional storage which would <br /> allow K-Mart to eliminate the truck bodies now parked outside and used <br /> for warehousing of inventory.
