Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - May 18, 1992 Page - 8 - NEW BUSINESS (continued) Mayor Karp said the people of San Leandro have sent in cards saying resoundingly that they want to see development at the Marina. He said senior organizations have asked repeatedly that the City develop a conference center because seniors must now go out of town for meetings because of the lack of conference centers. He noted that the City must apply for this loan now but does not have to accept the loan and that is why a change of the wording has been requested to make acceptance of the loan subject to further City Council approval . He said there have been Work Sessions on this matter and the City must apply for this money now. Council Member Perry said the City needs to apply for the funds by June 1992 and would not get a response on the Application for another year but at that time they do not have to accept the loan and would have an opportunity to accept or reject the Marina Master Plan in that time period. The following Resolution was then introduced: RESOLUTION NO. 92-118 (1955) RESOLUTION APPROVING AUTHORIZATION TO FILE A LOAN APPLICATION WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MARINA MASTER PLAN Introduced by Council Member Myers, who moved its adoption, seconded by Council Member Polvorosa, and carried by the following called vote: AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; Mayor Karp ( 7 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: None ( 0 ) C.
