Matter of Report of the City Council Mobile Home Committee. <br /> Council Member Faria said the people of Mission Bay Mobile Home Park <br /> have developed an agreement that seems to be acceptable to both the <br /> residents of the park and the park owners. He said 90% of the <br /> residents have agreed to sign the agreement. He congratulated the <br /> negotiating committee for their hard work. He said the attorneys have <br /> worked out the agreement and the Committee recommends adoption by the <br /> City Council . He said the Committee, consisting of himself and Council <br /> Members Kerr and Perry, will continue to meet. He commended former <br /> Council Member Bob Glaze for the work he did on the Committee. <br /> Council Member Perry recognized Ted Lastiri for bringing information to <br /> the Committee. She said a key component of the program is the "buy-in" <br /> element. She encouraged use of this agreement as a model for other <br /> mobile home communities. She noted John Klein of the Development <br /> Services Department will be preparing a pamphlet of City services <br /> available to mobile home owners. She said the proposed agreement <br /> incorporates elements of other rent-control ordinances. She said <br /> having the City as a partner to this agreement will ensure that <br /> compliance is monitored and the ordinance amended as necessary. <br /> Council Member Kerr said he is happy with the agreement. He said 90% <br /> of the residents of Mission Bay have agreed so far, and the agreement <br /> is mutually acceptable to the residents and the park owners. He said <br /> he was pleased to see everyone working together, and this can serve as <br /> a model . <br /> Council Member Corbett thanked the Committee for their hard work and <br /> accomplishment. She asked if the Committee felt the agreement <br /> responded adequately to all the issues that have been raised. Council <br /> Member Faria said it did, and he hoped the City could work with other <br /> parks to utilize this agreement. He said there are still social needs <br /> which need to be addressed at other parks, and he would be happy to <br /> meet with those parks. <br /> Mayor Karp recognized Jeff Moore and Fran Hirsch of Brandenburg, <br /> Staedler and Moore, and the members of Mission Bay who had worked on <br /> the agreement and congratulated them on the fine job. <br /> Minute Order No. 92-67. On motion by Council Member Faria, who moved <br /> its approval , seconded by Council Member Perry, and carried by the <br /> following called vote, the City Council accepted the report of the City <br /> Council Mobile Home Committee and directed the City Attorney to prepare <br /> the document in final form for approval at the September 21 , 1992, City . <br /> Council meeting.
