Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - September 21, 1992 Page - 22 - <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) <br /> He said if the City Council has any interest in litigation, it is <br /> important to exhaust administrative remedies provided by law, which <br /> include appealing the decision of the Planning Commission to the <br /> Oakland City Council . He advised the City Council that, if they wished <br /> to continue the participation of San Leandro in the process, one way of <br /> doing so would be to instruct staff to file an appeal on behalf of the <br /> City Council . <br /> Council Member Perry asked if there are any costs involved in filing an <br /> appeal . Mr. Meyers said there are no costs, no liability, and no <br /> further obligation to the City Council . <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> Minute Order No. 92-70. Acceptance of Public Comments Regarding <br /> Proposed Dunsmuir Heights Development in the City of Oakland. (2721) <br /> On motion by Council Member Corbett, who moved its approval , seconded <br /> by Council Member Kerr, and carried by the following called vote, the <br /> City Council directed staff to file an appeal regarding the proposed <br /> Dunsmuir Heights Development with the Oakland City Council on behalf of <br /> the San Leandro City Council . <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 6 ) <br /> NOES: Council Member Faria ( 1 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Myers said he has received complaints about people <br /> staying at the Marina in campers and, when asked to move by the Police <br /> Department, they move into adjoining neighborhoods. He asked what can <br /> be done. <br /> B. Council Member Corbett said on October 28th she will be having a Public <br /> Forum for the North Area at the Washington School , probably at 7:00 <br /> p.m. , and she will be getting the word out. <br /> C. Council Member Corbett suggested that everyone look into the CEQA <br /> process to make these kinds of situations work for the surrounding <br /> jurisdictions and ask that jurisdictions within a certain radius that <br /> will be impacted should be included in the comment process of <br /> environmental documents in a more meaningful way. She suggested <br /> petitioning the Legislature to allow impacted jurisdictions to have <br /> more of a role. <br /> Mayor Karp suggested that she meet with the City Attorney and prepare <br /> something in writing that the City Council can send to Sacramento. <br />
