Mike Oliver noted that Volume 5 of the "Budget Bulletin" highlights the <br /> hiring freeze, which is proposed to save $150,000 this year. He said <br /> there are currently 12 vacancies, which equal 2.5% of the work force. <br /> He said this has resulted in a significant workload impact, and staff <br /> may need to come back to the Council to juggle priorities. He said <br /> employees are working harder to meet the needs. <br /> He discussed the Budget Hot Line which has an update on the City's <br /> budget situation and asks for comments from callers. He said <br /> information from the Hot Line will be presented to the City Council and <br /> the Task Force. <br /> He noted letters would be sent to Task Force nominees tomorrow <br /> regarding their nominations and the first meeting. He said Ken <br /> Emanuels, formerly of the League of California Cities, and Ted Gaebler, <br />
