PUBLIC HEARINGS
A. None Scheduled.
8. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS
A. Council Member Santos raised the issue of shopping carts abandoned on
City streets. He referred to the proposed staff recommendation to
establish a six-month trial public relations program. He said he is not
certain if this is a solution. He asked if staff had looked into the
idea of coin-operated stands for shopping carts and if staff had talked
to the retailers to find out if this was feasible. He asked, if it was
not feasible, what was the objection and what is the cost to implement
such a program.
Council Member Faria said his concern with the carts was that they were
staying on the streets too long but felt that problem is being handled.
