Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - May 6, 1991 Page - 9 - <br /> NEW BUSINESS (continued) <br /> The City Council asked questions regarding the type of impact renaming <br /> the streets would have, including impact on residences in the area, <br /> costs, interaction with Cal -Trans, and the possibility of dual names. <br /> Mr. Adcock said consideration of these matters would be part of the <br /> responsibility of the Committee. <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-34 (1242) <br /> PROPOSED RENAMING OF EAST 14TH STREET <br /> On motion by Council Member Glaze who moved its approval , seconded by Council <br /> Member Polvorosa and carried by the following called vote, the City Council <br /> appointed Council Members Corbett, Faria and Perry to the City Council Ad Hoc <br /> East 14th Street Renaming Committee and directed the Committee to investigate <br /> the matter of renaming East 14th Street, as outlined in the staff report dated <br /> April 26, 1991 . The Committee was also directed to include the matter of <br /> renaming MacArthur Boulevard as part of their deliberations. <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Matter of Hearing Protests on the Cost of Sidewalk Construction on <br /> Halcyon Drive. <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br /> matter, Bill Silva, City Engineer, said sidewalks were constructed on <br /> Halcyon Drive along with the beautification project in that area, which <br /> included installation of fir bark and planting trees on the excess <br /> properties. He said sidewalks were constructed on four properties and <br /> tonight's Hearing was to hear protests regarding the cost. He said <br /> property owners had been notified by certified mail and by hand delivery <br /> of tonight's Hearing, and last week they were notified of three methods <br /> of payment. <br /> The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> There being no comments from the public, on motion of Council Member <br /> Santos, seconded by Council Member Perry, and carried unanimously, the <br /> Public Hearing was closed. <br />
