Matter of Ad Hoc Committee for the Renaming of East 14th Street/ <br /> MacArthur Boulevard. <br /> Rick Evans, Assistant to the City Manager, said in May the City Council <br /> directed staff to develop a list of names to participate in the Ad Hoc <br /> Committee. He said all of those listed in the staff report had agreed <br /> to serve and the City Council was being requested to appoint the <br /> Committee tonight and then staff would convene its first meeting. <br /> The City Council said they felt additional representatives from the <br /> southerly portions of East 14th Street also should be on the Committee. <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-39 (1156) <br /> MOTION ESTABLISHING AN AD HOC COMMITTEE <br /> FOR THE RENAMING OF EAST 14TH STREET AND MACARTHUR BOULEVARD <br /> On motion by Council Member Perry who moved its approval , seconded by Council <br /> Member Corbett and carried by the following called vote, the City Council <br /> approved the appointments to the Ad Hoc Committee for the Renaming of East 14th <br /> Street and MacArthur Boulevard and directed that five additional names be <br /> presented for appointment at the June 3, 1991 , City Council Meeting. <br /> The Committee Membership is as follows: <br /> Mary Lou Eckersley -- Chamber of Commerce <br /> Bob Berger -- Fashion Furniture (East 14th Street) <br /> Hank Deadrich -- Deadrich Realtors (East 14th Street) <br /> Randy Greenfield -- Bay Bank of Commerce (East 14th Street) <br /> George Piperis -- Piper's Restaurant (MacArthur Boulevard) <br /> Loren Worm -- Centurion Insurance (MacArthur Boulevard) <br /> Glenn Hilton -- Associated Homeowners of San Leandro, Inc. <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 6 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: Council Member Polvorosa ( 1 ) <br /> 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Matter of Community Development Block Grant Submission Statement, <br /> Program Year 1991. <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter <br /> Bill Rugg, Development Director, said total grants and repayments for <br /> the coming fiscal year provide $741,000 to be split in five basic areas: <br /> North Area Development, public services, housing, public works, and <br /> administration. He described the types of projects and activities <br /> involved in each of those areas. <br />
