Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - September 16, 1991 Page - 11 - <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) <br /> The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> There being no comments from the public, on motion of Council Member <br /> Santos, seconded by Council Member Faria, and carried unanimously, the <br /> Public Hearing was closed. <br /> The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 91-207 (2096) <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) <br /> GRANTEE PERFORMANCE REPORT (GPR) <br /> FOR FISCAL YEAR 1990-91 . <br /> AND AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION THEREOF BY THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Introduced by Council Member Perry who moved its adoption, seconded by Council <br /> Member Corbett and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 9. NEW BUSINESS (continued) <br /> A. Matter of A. C. Transit's Discontinuance of Line 36X (Washington Manor) . <br /> Pat Piras, representing A. C. Transit, spoke regarding A. C. Transit's <br /> proposal to discontinue the line known as 36X, the Express line. She <br /> said, although the name 36X would be discontinued, the service would <br /> still be continued, with some minor adjustments, and would be known as <br /> the S/SW Line. She said basically the same schedule would be available <br /> and the line would continue to make stops in downtown Oakland. For the <br /> people who use the line, there might be some delays, but the same basic <br /> service would exist. <br /> Council Member Glaze asked if this meant that, for the Washington Manor <br /> area, the service would remain the same. Ms. Piras said the stops would <br /> be the same but the time schedules would be somewhat different. She <br /> said she suspected, because the bus would start in San Francisco before <br /> it came across the bridge to Oakland, there would be slight adjustments <br /> to the time schedule for those people leaving downtown Oakland and <br /> commuting to their homes in San Leandro. She said the 36X Line has very <br /> avid supporters but they are very few in number. <br /> Council Member Glaze said he has some hesitation about cutting any <br /> commuter lines. He said the Washington Manor area is as large a service <br /> area as Emeryville, and he is concerned that any changes will be <br />
