KERRY OF THE <br /> BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS' <br /> REVOCATION OF THE ZONING APPROVAL FOR <br /> BEST TRANSPORT, INC. , AND RUAN LEASING COMPANY FOR <br /> EXPANSION OF A LEGAL, NON-CONFORMING USE <br /> IN VIOLATION OF THE ZONING CODE <br /> 1791 NEPTUNE DRIVE <br /> I-P ZONING DISTRICT <br /> ZA-91-1 <br /> On motion by Council Member Santos who moved its approval , seconded by Council <br /> Member Corbett carried by the following called vote, the City Council continued <br /> the Public Hearing for ninety (90) days to February 18, 1992, and directed staff <br /> to work with Best Transport, Inc. , and Mr. Kerry to look at alternative ingress <br /> and egress to the Neptune Drive area and to look at alternative sites for <br /> possible relocation of Best Transport, Inc. <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> B. Matter of PD-91-1 GDP; Planned Unit Development (General Development <br /> Plan) ; a Request for the Renovation of the Civic Center, Which Includes <br /> a Two-Story, 29,405 Sq.-Foot Expansion to the Existing City Hall , <br /> Modifications to the Existing Building and Parking Lots, Including <br /> Seismic Retrofitting Work, and Additional On-Site Landscaping; <br /> Assessor's Parcel Numbers 75-164-1-3, 4-6, 4-7, 4-8; 75-165-59-1; 75- <br /> 172-2-3, 3-2, 4, 5, 6-2, 6-4, 6-6, 6-7, 6-8 and 8; 835-999 East 14th <br /> Street; City of San Leandro c/o Pacific Union (Jeff Abramson); CC <br /> (Civic Center) District. <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br /> matter, Elmer Penaranda, Assistant Planner, described the highlights of <br /> the proposed development. He described the site plan, including the <br /> 29,000-square-foot addition north of City Hall , additional parking <br /> lots, and the outdoor plaza. He said Lorraine Avenue would remain open <br /> to traffic. He described the landscaping throughout the site and that <br /> proposed for East 14th Street. He said the addition to the Civic <br /> Center would provide for one-stop shopping for the public, lease space <br /> on the second floor and a cafe or flex space on the southerly end of <br /> the building. He described the proposed elevations, including the <br /> front entry on Lorraine. He said the addition would be built to <br /> compliment the southerly end of the building. He said there would be <br /> a clock tower in the courtyard area for outdoor events. He said this <br /> expansion proposal provides high-quality architecture, improvement of <br />
