Kai Bender, President of Creekside Neighborhood Association, suggested since the City has a budget battle ahead of them this project should be constructed in phases as finances permit. Council Member Perry noted there were a number of people who had been in the audience but due to the late hour had to leave and asked if written comments would be accepted. Mr. Oliver said they would. There being no further comments from the public, on motion of Council Member Faria, seconded by Council Member Glaze, and carried unanimously, the Public Hearing was closed. The following Motion was then introduced: MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-108 (1009) PD-91-1 GDP PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT (GENERAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN) • REQUEST FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE CIVIC CENTER WHICH INCLUDES A TWO-STORY, 29,405 SQ.-FT. EXPANSION TO THE EXISTING CITY HALL MODIFICATIONS TO THE EXISTING BUILDING AND PARKING LOTS, INCLUDING SEISMIC RETROFITTING WORK, AND ADDITIONAL ON-SITE LANDSCAPING 835-999 EAST 14TH STREET CITY OF SAN LEANDRO C/O PACIFIC UNION (JEFF ABRAMSON) CC (CIVIC CENTER) DISTRICT On motion by Council Member Corbett who moved its approval , seconded by Council Member Glaze and carried by the following called vote, the City Council approved the Negative Declaration and PD-91-1 . AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; Mayor Karp ( 7 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: None ( 0 ) 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS A. Council Member Santos noted a letter he received from the San Leandro Manufacturers' Association. He said there was a comment in the Association's minutes by Mr. Dan McCarthy regarding the restrictions placed by the Building Department on expansion of existing businesses. Council Member Santos said he feels the City works closely with the Chamber of Commerce and the Manufacturers' Association.
