Matter of Appointment of City Council Members to Various Internal Committees <br /> and External Agencies (as listed below) . <br /> On motion of Council Member Perry, seconded by Council Member Glaze and <br /> carried unanimously, the appointments to the following committees and <br /> agencies (Items d through m of the Agenda) were deferred, pending a Work <br /> Session for the purpose of discussion of City Council internal committee <br /> and external agency appointments, review of their charges and discussion of <br /> standards and process to be used in appointment of such committees. <br /> - Matter of Appointment of Linda Perry to the Civic Center Master Plan <br /> Committee. <br /> - Matter of Appointment of Julian P. Polvorosa to the Fire Long-Range <br /> Planning Ad Hoc Committee. <br /> - Matter of Appointment of Ellen M. Corbett to the Police Long-Range <br /> Planning Ad Hoc Committee. <br /> - Matter of Appointment of Linda Perry to the School District Liaison <br /> Committee. <br /> - Matter of Appointment of Ellen M. Corbett to the Downtown Parking <br /> Committee. <br /> - Matter of Appointment of Julian P. On motion of Council Member <br /> Glaze, seconded by Council Member Perry and carried unanimously, the City <br /> Council approved the Disaster Preparedness Program, as outlined in the City <br /> Manager's May 17, 1990, report to the City Council , and authorized the <br /> immediate staffing of a Disaster Preparedness Coordinator position. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br /> a. Matter of FM-90-1; Fence Modification; to Retain an Existing 4-Foot-High, <br /> Wrought-Iron Fence with 5-Foot- and 6-Foot-High Stuccoed Pilasters in the <br /> Required Front Yard; 2136-2140 West Avenue 136th; Assessor's Parcel Number <br /> 79A-581-8-2; Viorel Neagu; 0 (Outer Residential ) District -- Appeal . <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing for the above matter, <br /> Gaye Quinn, Acting City Planner, noted the fence in question is an above- <br /> height fence. She said above-height fences are becoming problems in the <br /> City and many complaints have been received through the Community Standards <br /> Section. She said this matter came to the Board of Zoning Adjustments as <br /> a complaint. She said the subject property is a large site with two, single- <br /> family residences. The fence was built prior to the Board of Zoning <br /> Adjustments' Hearing. It is a 4-foot-high fence with 5-foot- to 6-foot-high <br />
