Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - August 20, 1990 Page - 7 - <br /> MISCELLANEOUS (continued) : <br /> The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 90-183 (2643) <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACTUAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH <br /> JORDAN, WOODMAN, DOBSON (JWD) <br /> FOR CONSULTANT ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> RELATING TO UNREINFORCED MASONRY BUILDINGS <br /> Introduced by Council Member Santos who moved its adoption, seconded by Council <br /> Member Glaze and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> b. Matter of Appointment of Building Security Ordinance Ad Hoc Committee. The <br /> City Council discussed the list of proposed Committee members and how they <br /> had been selected. On motion of Council Member Corbett, seconded by Council <br /> Member Perry, with Council Member Glaze voting no, the City Council approved <br /> the appointment of the list of candidates submitted by Mayor Karp. <br /> c. Matter of Preparation of County-Wide Alameda County Economic Development <br /> Program. Mayor Karp suggested that a letter be sent to the Alameda County <br /> Board of Supervisors commending them on the program but recommending that <br /> they increase City Council representation. It was noted that Bruce Kern was <br /> aware of the City Council 's concerns as expressed at Work Session, and that <br /> additional information should be provided to the City Council . Steve Meyers, <br /> City Attorney, noted that any action related to the Joint Powers Agreement <br /> would also be postponed until the City Council had additional information <br /> on which to base a decision. <br /> d. Matter of Alameda County Housing Bond Program Proposal . On motion by Council <br /> Member Perry, seconded by Council Member Corbett and carried unanimously, <br /> the City Council directed staff to prepare a resolution in support of the <br /> 1990 Alameda County Housing Board Bond issue. <br /> e. Matter of Public Review Process Regarding Proposed Medical Waste Facility <br /> at Oakland Scavenger Company, Davis Street Transfer Station. On motion of <br /> Council Member Santos, seconded by Council Member Polvorosa and carried <br /> unanimously, the City Council directed staff to develop recommendations for <br /> the local assessment committee membership for the proposed medical waste <br /> facility at the Oakland Scavenger Company, Davis Street Transfer Station. <br /> The City Council also expressed its desire to visit a medical waste facility <br /> and to obtain more information on such facilities. <br /> f. Council Members Corbett and Perry discussed the success of the National <br /> "Night Out" Program and thanked the members of the community who <br /> participated, as well as members of the Police and Fire Departments. <br /> h. Council Member Corbett congratulated the Police and Fire Departments on <br /> promoting safer areas in San Leandro. <br />
