PD-90-4; Planned Unit Development (General Development and Precise <br /> Development Plans Combined); Planned Unit Development for a Single-Story <br /> Commercial Building with a Floor Area of 6,200 Square Feet, 15325 <br /> Hesperian Boulevard; Southwest Corner of Hesperian Boulevard and <br /> Springlake Drive; Assessor's Parcel Number 77C-1290-4; Jerry Kler, <br /> Architect; N (Nursery) District. Continued from November 19, 1990, City <br /> Council Meeting. <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, <br /> Norm Weisbrod, Associate Planner, gave a brief description of the <br /> proposed project and noted the change that had been made to the plan <br /> related to angling the driveway. <br /> Roy Parker, Acting Director of the Engineering and Transportation <br /> Department, reviewed the traffic in the area of Hesperian Boulevard and <br /> Springlake Drive and described peak-hour traffic and the type of traffic <br /> that could be anticipated in connection with the proposed development. <br /> The City Council asked if there would be any problems related to sight <br /> distance; Mr. Parker said there would not. Council Member Perry then <br /> asked the Applicant his feelings related to the six-month and one-year <br /> review of the driveway as proposed in the Conditions of Approval . <br /> On motion of Council Member Perry, seconded by Council Member Faria and <br /> carried unanimously, the City Council approved PD-90-4 with an amendment <br /> to the wording of the Conditions of Approval , to include the following <br /> sentence to Item II.C.4. , immediately following the first sentence: <br /> This review will include: (1) the accident and safety <br /> history, (2) any problems with a continuous backup of <br /> traffic related to use of the driveway, and (3) corner <br /> cutting to Hesperian Boulevard. <br /> 8. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS • <br /> A. Council Member Santos expressed his condolences to the Polvorosa family <br /> upon the death of Dolores Polvorosa. He paid tribute to Mario Polvorosa <br /> for his contributions to the San Leandro community, including helping <br /> feed underprivileged families at Thanksgiving and Christmas during the <br /> last 15 years. He said Mr. Polvorosa has a big heart and has not sought <br /> a lot of public recognition. <br /> B. Mayor Karp also noted the recent death of Larry Miller, the City's <br /> Supervising Engineering Inspector. He said Larry, a 25-year employee <br /> with the City, was a delightful person, and he expressed his condolences <br /> and wished the Miller family well . <br /> C. Council Member Corbett wished everyone a happy holiday season and <br /> congratulated the Recreation-Human Resources Department for the <br /> Christmas-tree decorating contest. She said she is looking forward to <br /> the challenges of 1991 . <br />
