Task 8: Environmental Review <br />8.1 Prepare Notice of Preparation & Conduct 8.5 Alternatives Analysis <br />Some of these tasks run in sequence, and some run concurrently. As shown on the <br />graphic schedule in Figure 1, Task 2 (Community Participation and Outreach) runs <br />throughout the entire work program, while other tasks (such as Project Start -Up) <br />have a fairly limited duration. Most of these tasks have multiple sub -tasks. <br />Task 1. Project Start -Up <br />The purpose of this task is to lay the groundwork for the General Plan Update and <br />EIR. It is an opportunity for the team to get acquainted with City staff, City <br />leaders, community members, and vice versa. It also an opportunity to define <br />project logistics, establish communication protocols, develop base maps, assemble <br />data, and begin the process of community outreach. <br />The following sub -tasks are included: <br />1.1 Staff -Level Kick -Off Meetings <br />Barry Miller and The Planning Center I DC&E will organize a series of kick-off <br />meetings with City staff to review the work program and schedule, discuss the <br />objectives of the General Plan Update, and identify data sources and key <br />stakeholders. The kick-off meetings should include introductions to City <br />Department heads to familiarize them with the project and schedule and to apprise <br />them of upcoming requests for data, documents, or direction on General Plan - <br />related issues.
