• • <br /> Subsection E. Vacations <br /> 1. Accrual - Vacation accrual shall be as prescribed in County MOU, or the County <br /> MOU - Management as appropriate. Vacation accrual is as follows: <br /> a. 7 shifts per year (14 hrs/month) until completion of 4 years of service. <br /> b. 10 shifts per year (20 hrs/month) after completion of 4 years of service until the <br /> completion of 14 years of service. <br /> c. 12 shifts per year (24 hrs/month) after completion of 14 years of service and thereafter. <br /> As used herein, "years of service" includes all service with City and ACFD. <br /> 2. Transition of Vacation Time - The maximum vacation accrual is 2 times annual <br /> accrual. Fire Employee's vacation balances on the books as of the effective date shall be <br /> carried over to the ACFD, notwithstanding the maximum accrual rate in the County MOU. <br /> Fire Employees over the maximum accrual on the effective date shall have two years from <br /> such date to reduce their vacation balances to the ACFD maximum accrual. <br /> 3. Vacation, Holiday and AT Sign-Ups - Fire Employees' vacation, holiday and <br /> accumulated time ("AT") sign up for calendar year 1995 will be honored as scheduled in the <br /> November, 1994 sign-up period and the subsequent February, 1995 sign up conducted in <br /> conjunction with the AT grievance settlement. Future selection of vacation, holiday and AT <br /> time will be in accordance with Section 10 (D) of the County MOU, or Section 8 (D) of the <br /> County MOU - Management. <br /> Subsection F. Sick Leave <br /> Fire Employees' sick leave balances on the books as of the effective date shall be carried over <br /> to the ACFD. Employees assigned to a 40 hour work schedule have a maximum accrual of <br /> 1,286 hours, and for 24 hour shift employees a maximum accrual of 1,800 hours. Upon <br /> reaching the maximum accrual rate, sick leave converts to vacation on a 5 to 1 ratio as <br /> specified in the County MOU. Employee's may elect to remain at the 1,800 hour maximum <br /> level. <br /> Subsection G. Catastrophic Leave <br /> ACFD will pay an additional $12.00 per month in salary to offset the cost of Fire Employees' <br /> participation in a long term disability insurance plan through the California Association of <br /> Professional Firefighters. This payment is in addition to the amounts listed in the salary <br /> schedule in Appendix "A." <br /> 4 <br />
