• • <br /> Alameda County Plan pursuant to that plans rules and regulations. <br /> c. Withdraw 100 percent of their funds from the San Leandro Deferred <br /> Compensation Plan, subject to applicable tax laws. <br /> Subsection F. Retirement <br /> 1. Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) Upon the effective date, Fire <br /> Employees shall be enrolled in the Public Employees Retirement System, pursuant <br /> to the contract between the ACFD and the Public Employees Retirement System. <br /> It is understood that the contract between the ACFD and PERS provides the <br /> following benefits: <br /> a. 2% at fifty (full) <br /> b. Third level of 1959 survivor benefit (section 21382.4) <br /> c. One year final compensation (section 20024.2) <br /> d. Credit for unused sick leave (section 20862.8) <br /> 2. Transition of Retirement Medical Insurance- Fire Employees retiring from the <br /> ACFD after the effective date may select one of the following options for retirement <br /> medical insurance subject to the provisions specified in this section. <br /> a. The retiring Fire Employee and eligible dependents may enroll in the ACFD <br /> PERS medical retirement program pursuant to that program's rules and regulations, <br /> at the ACFD contribution rate in effect as of the date of retirement which shall be <br /> paid by the ACFD; or <br /> b. The retiring Fire Employee and eligible dependents may re-enroll in the San <br /> Leandro retirement medical plan he/she was formerly enrolled in, subject to the <br /> approval of the medical insurance carrier, at the City's contribution rate in effect for <br /> retirees of the SLMO as of the date of retirement, and may remain enrolled until age <br /> 65 or eligible for Medicare coverage, whichever is first. <br /> This option (b) shall be available to Fire Employees who meet the following <br /> requirements: <br /> (i) The Fire Employee shall have reached the age of 47 as of the effective <br /> date; and <br /> (ii) The Fire Employee shall have completed 17 years of service with the San <br /> Leandro Fire Department as of the effective date. <br /> ACFD shall pay the premium for such insurance plan up to the dollar amount <br /> it would pay if the employee had selected option (a) and the City shall pay premium <br /> 4 <br />
