' 'Proeiiremeu Division California Department of General Services Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Participation Program Attachment 1 OPTION A- Commit to at Least 3 Percent DVBE Participation Meet or exceed the goal of 3 percent certified DVBE participation in the performance of work under any contract that may result from this solicitation. Your firm can make this commitment in one of the following ways: 1. If your firm is not a certified DVBE, your firm commits to using a certified DVBE or certified DVBEs for not less than 3 percent of the total price that your firm proposes in response to this solicitation. The final price under any contract that may result from this solicitation may be subject to negotiation, in which case your firm's commitment to use a certified DVBE or certified DVBEs shall be at least 3 percent of the final, negotiated contract price. 2. If your firm is a certified DVBE, your firm commits to using its resources alone or in combination with another certified DVBE or other certified DVBEs to perform work amounting to at least 'percent of the total price that your firm proposes in response to this solicitation. The final price under any contract that may result from this solicitation may be subject to negotiation, in which case your firm's commitment shall be at least 3 percent of the final,negotiated contract price. OPTION B - Demonstrate and Document"Good Faith Effort" Your firm may not be able to commit to full goal attainment under Option A because you have been unsuccessful in identifying a certified DVBE or certified DBVEs for subcontractor/supplier participation that represents at least 3 percent of your firm's total proposed price. If this is the case, your firm must document that it has made a "Good Faith Effort" to identify a certified DVBE or certified DVBEs prior to the date that your response to this solicitation is due. To document your firm's"Good Faith Effort,"complete Exhibit A of this Attachment 1. Notwithstanding the fact that your firm may not be able to achieve and,therefore,commit to full goal attainment of at least 3 percent DVBE subcontractor/supplier participation,you are nevertheless encouraged to seek at least partial DVBE participation. There are five steps to follow in developing the documented evidence of your firm's"Good Faith Effort." and they are presented on Pages 4 through 6 of this Attachment 1. The objective of the five steps is to ensure that you make every reasonable effort to identify a certified DVBE or certified DVBEs and attain certified DVBE participation in work under any contract that may result from this solicitation.
