$o'tATIFD
Y
SAN LEANDRO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
LEARNING
Mike McLaughlin, Ed.D. ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE
Superintendent 14735 Juniper Street, San Leandro, CA, 94579
(510) 895-4199
To: Chris Zapata, San Leandro City Manager
From: Dr. Mike McLaughlin
Re: COPS Grant
Mr. Zapata,
I want to start by thanking the City of San Leandro and their staff for their work in
acquiring the COPS Grant. Unfortunately, the district will not be able to commit to
its original stated contribution to the grant. Due to the adjustments by the Governor
of California to our revenue and the increased obligations to our State Teacher
Retirement System, the funds we had designated in this area will have to be moved to
address other priorities in our budget.
The San Leandro Unified School District recognizes that being awarded the COPS
Grant was a huge win for the school district and the City of San Leandro. We will
continue to work with our city partners to provide our students with the valued
services of the San Leandro School Resource Officers.
Thank you,
Mike McLaughlin, Ed.d.
