City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: July 6, 2015 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:15-378 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Authorizing the Acquisition of a Replacement Pumper Fire <br />Truck from Pierce Manufacturing and Authorizing the City Manager to Execute <br />the Purchase Agreement and Other Documents Necessary to Finance the <br />Acquisition <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD), in serving as the City's fire <br />department, needs to replace its existing fire apparatus; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, although the City contracts with the ACFD for fire services, all facilities and <br />equipment, including fire trucks, are purchased and owned by the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid price by Pierce Manufacturing for the 2015 fire truck is not to <br />exceed $530,000, which includes costs for inspection, delivery, and sales tax; and <br />WHEREAS, Acquisition cost is provided in the City’s 2015-16 Adopted Budget, account <br />number 010-23-002-7510; and <br />WHEREAS, the City proposes to purchase the fire engine by piggy-backing on the <br />County bid to benefit from the County's bid process. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby resolves as <br />follows: <br />That the acquisition of a replacement pumper fire truck from Pierce Manufacturing is <br />approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute the purchase agreement and other <br />documents necessary to effect the acquisition. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 6/30/2015
