Stantec <br /> TRAINING <br /> Practical information material (on general good housekeeping practices for each type <br /> of site occupancy that contribute to protection of storm water quality) will be provided <br /> to employees, contractors, and public users (as needed) by Waste Management of <br /> Alameda County. Among other things, these materials will describe the use of <br /> chemicals (including household type), petroleum products, pesticides, and fertilizers <br /> that should be limited to the property, with no discharge of wastes via hosing or other <br /> direct discharge to gutters, catch basins, or storm drains. Such information will include, <br /> but not be limited to the information provided in Section 2.1 of the Potential Pollution <br /> sources and Descriptions of BMPs (Best Management Practices) provided in the site's <br /> Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan. The information will be distributed directly to <br /> contractors, new employees, as well as being posted in public places. Annual <br /> education for employees and contracted third party vendors will be conducted <br /> through mailings. All new employees and contractors will be trained within a month of <br /> hire. Contractors working on the property will also be educated through mailings. <br /> Maintenance agreements with contractors will be written to include conformance with <br /> this 0 & M Plan. Property owner and Contractor Training Logos will be kept as an <br /> appendix to this site Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan. The records of training will <br /> be kept of a minimum of five years. <br /> In addition to the attachments, the following resources can be contacted to obtain <br /> updated educational information free of charge: <br /> American Oceans website-www.americanoceans.org -This website provides a <br /> listing of the brochures available from various State of California county and city <br /> agencies. The phone numbers of each of the agencies are also provided on this <br /> website. <br /> Alameda County Clean Water Program-www.cleanwaterprogram.com-This <br /> website offers free educational materials and suggestions to help residents and <br /> businesses to protect watersheds and reduce storm water contamination. <br /> BMP training and water quality educational programs will be conducted by the <br /> property owner. Materials based upon information provided through the Area-wide <br /> Storm Water Program Public Education Program may be used. <br />
