File Number: 15-556 <br />• On December 1, 2014, the City Council adopted Resolution 2014-132 authorizing the <br />City Manager to execute a State standard agreement with the California Department of <br />Housing and Community Development for a Housing -Related Parks Program Grant in <br />the amount of $1,376,600. <br />Committee Review and Actions <br />• On September 1, 2015, the City Council Facilities and Transportation Committee was <br />presented with the project and the preliminary design concepts. <br />Applicable General Plan Policies <br />• 6.01 DOWNTOWN PLAN. In accordance with the adopted Downtown Plan and Urban <br />Design Guidelines and the Downtown San Leandro Transit Oriented Development <br />Strategy, ensure that the new Downtown Development is attractive and creates an <br />image conducive to revitalization. <br />44.06 PUBLIC ART. Encourage the siting of public art in civic open spaces, around <br />public buildings, and within new development areas. Public art should reflect and <br />express the diversity of the City. <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />• Staff presented project update to Facilities and Transportation Committee <br />• Staff presented project update to the Downtown San Leandro Improvement <br />Association <br />• Staff presented project update to the San Leandro Downtown Association <br />Legal Analysis <br />The agreement was reviewed by the City Attorney's Office and approved as to form. <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />This project will cost $235,000, which requires increasing the FY 2015-16 Budget by the same <br />amount and will be funded by a grant from the State of California - Department of Housing <br />and Community Development, resulting in no net impact to the General Fund. <br />Budget Authority <br />The project will require an appropriation of $235,000 in account 122-38-362.
