Further, <br />originally planned upgrades to the equipment in Estudillo / Karp room are also required for the <br />camera in those rooms to function and are thus a valid use of PEG funds. <br />The design of these additional features requires an amendment to the existing design contract <br />that increases the fee by $12,628 such that the amended contract amount is $60,885. <br />The proposed contract and amendment represent staff’s current understanding of the work <br />required. Occasionally, changes to the scope of contracts are necessary to respond to new <br />information and/or to include additional items of work necessary for a complete product. In order <br />to resolve these issues in a timely fashion and avoid delaying work, staff additionally requests <br />authorization to issue individual change orders to the consultant up to 10% each, and cumulative <br />change orders up to 25% of the amended contract. <br />Current Agency Policies <br />·Maintain and enhance San Leandro’s infrastructure <br />·Support and implement programs, activities and strengthen communication that enhances <br />the quality of life and wellness, celebrates the arts and diversity and promotes civic pride <br />Committee Review and Actions <br />Staff provided the Facilities and Transportation Committee with information on this project on <br />February 1, 2017 and April 16, 2016. <br />Applicable General Plan Policies <br />·Policy CSF-3.1 Library Expansion and Upgrades Support the expansion and <br />upgrading of public library facilities and services to keep pace with changing in <br />information technology and community needs. <br />·Policy CSF-4.2 Information Technology Encourage the use of the Internet, cable TV, <br />and other forms of information and communication technology as a way to widely disburse <br />information about City and community services, events, and resources. <br />Permits and/or Variances Granted <br />A building permit from the City’s Community Development department will be obtained for this <br />work. <br />Environmental Review <br />A CEQA Notice of Exemption was filed with Alameda County on October 2, 2015.
