City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: July 6, 2020 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:20-023 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Jeff Kay <br />City Manager <br />BY:Keith Cooke <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Liz Warmerdam <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Approve a Consulting <br />Services Agreement with Denalect Alarm Company for the Design and <br />Installation of Fire and Security Alarm Systems for the Farrelly Pool <br />Replacement, Project No. 2018.3420 for an Amount Not to Exceed $51,849; to <br />Authorize the City Manager to Negotiate and Approve Individual Amendments up <br />to 10% (or $5,185); and to Authorize the City Manager to Negotiate and Approve <br />Cumulative Amendments up to 15% (or $7,777) of the Original Contract Amount <br />(provides for the installation of fire and security alarm systems for the new Farrelly <br />Pool facility) <br />WHEREAS, a draft agreement between the City of San Leandro and Denalect Alarm <br />Company was presented to this City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has previously approved a sole-source agreement with <br />Denalect Alarm Company for City Alarm and Security Systems installation under Resolution No. <br />2003-131; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, changes to the scope of contracts are at times necessary to respond to new <br />information and/or to include additional items of work necessary for a complete product; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to expedite the delivery of public projects on schedule and on budget, <br />avoid costly delays, and insure that the City completes projects and products that are to the City’s <br />highest standards, the City Council finds that providing authorization to negotiate and approve <br />contract amendments is in the best interests of public health, safety and welfare. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 7/1/2020 <br />46
