December 3, 2020Disaster Council Minutes <br />15%. <br />Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) reported staffing is holding steady. The <br />department had 2 positive cases the last week and 7 more are currently isolating at <br />home. If there is a red flag warning this weekend, then the department will send out <br />information. There is more concern about southern California at this time. <br />San Leandro City <br />• San Leandro City Manager <br />• San Leandro Police <br />2.C. <br />Assistant City Manager Warmerdam reported the City Council will be receiving <br />information about funding for small business through ALCO CARES grant program. <br />We will be asking for authority to match the County’s $150,000, for a total of $300,000. <br />The program will be offering $5000 grants for each business and administered through <br />the East Bay Economic Development Alliance (EBEDA) and will be in addition to the <br />$250,000 in small grants the city distributed in May. The flu clinic will be 12/16 at SCC, <br />in partnership with ACPHD and Supervisor Chan and participants will get a free turkey <br />lunch. <br />The MCC testing site has doubled capacity to 288. Appointments are available online <br />and RHS staff can assist people. The City received Community Development Block <br />Grant (CDBG) funds from the federal government and the City Council approved using <br />the funds to establish a bilingual warm line to offer support, in Chinese, English and <br />Spanish, which had a soft opening last week. <br />San Leandro Police shared what businesses will be impacted by the Governor’s new <br />order, information regarding the overflow hospital facilities around the state (11 in total, <br />with 3 in the Bay Area), and the governor’s message to safely go outside. PG&E’s <br />Community Resource Center is in the final phase of installation work. It was suggested <br />that emergency kit supplies be given as Christmas gifts. <br />The Vice Mayor thanked SLPD and ACFD for all they do and to let them know they are <br />appreciated. <br />RHS Director Dong reported that the flu clinic will be open 12/16 for drive thru and walk <br />in. All COVID safety procedures are going to be followed. Appointments will be <br />accepted via the customer service line (510-577-3462). The focus will be on seniors <br />but will not turn anyone over 3 years old away, and it is open geographically to the <br />unincorporated areas of the city, Oakland and other parts of the county. The city <br />received ~400 doses. A free frozen turkey lunch will be provided after vaccination. This <br />will be an exercise for the COVID vaccinations. The Police Department will develop a <br />circulation plan for the parking lot. Volunteers from city departments and ACPHD will <br />be staffing the clinic. San Leandro requested an offline conversation about the flu <br />clinic. <br />The MCC test site did double capacity and appointments are available. There is now a <br />1st responder line on Tues & Friday. CPT Torres sent the county’s vaccination plan <br />and it is very cohesive and includes who can vaccinate, including paramedics. <br />Page 3City of San Leandro <br />94
