24. All egress door hardware shall be appropriate for its access. 25.All penetrations in rated construction shall be by a listing (sprinkler, electrical, and plumbing). 26. Buildings addresses shall be identifiable from the street and shall have a contrasting background. 27.A Knox Box will be required for each building for fire department access. If an electric gate is installed, an electric Knox Box Key switch will be required to override the system. VIII. BUILDING & SAFETY SERVICES DIVISION REQUIREMENTS 1. Plans shall be submitted for plan check review by the Building & Safety Services Division and necessary permits shall be obtained prior to construction. Plans submitted for building permit review shall demonstrate compliance with all applicable codes, including Title 24. 2. Construction and Demolition shall comply with CalGreen and CalGreen Residential Mandatory Measures Checklist. 3. Plans submitted for building permit issuance shall demonstrate compliance with egress requirements, fire ratings, fire separation, and accessibility requirements. 4. Provide adaptable accessible units and accessible path of travel from public right of way and accessible parking to the following: leasing office, individual units, elevator, amenities spaces, laundry room, mail room, and site. Common use areas shall accommodate accessible activities or provide equivalent facilitation. All egress routes shall have accessible compliant hardware. Provide accessible clearances for all accessible spaces. 5. Provide occupancy type and occupant load for all residential amenity locations and occupant load for commercial exterior spaces. 6. Provide residential and commercial signage per 2019 CBC. 7. All floors served by an elevator are considered a ground floor and shall comply with Chapter 11A requirements. 8. Provide smoke detectors in all units and Carbon Monoxide detectors if gas appliances are being used. 9. Provide location of building mechanical equipment on plans submitted for building permit issuance. 10. Provide details of equipment being used in utility rooms and fire separations on plans submitted for building permit issuance. 11. All gates shall comply with accessibility requirements 12.
