<br /> <br />Consulting Services Agreement between City of San Leandro and Last revised May 2021 <br />Freyer & Laureta, Inc. for San Rafael St. Force Main Replacement Exhibit A – Page 1 of 2 <br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />Project Description <br />The City of San Leandro proposes to replace the San Rafael Lift Station force-main and replace/upgrade <br />two force-main valve covers located on Wicks Boulevard. <br /> <br />The San Rafael Street Lift Station was constructed in circa 1947 and provides sanitary sewer service to <br />approximately 100 properties located between San Rafael Street and Grand Avenue. The lift station’s <br />force-main extends 700 feet to its discharge point in Sybil Avenue. The force main is of cast iron <br />construction and is heavily corroded. It has reached its useful life and is need of replacement. <br /> <br />Wicks Boulevard Lift Station and Force Main were replaced in 2009. The force main passes through a <br />series of valves located in vault structures beneath Wicks Boulevard roadway. The covers to the vaults, <br />subject to traffic loading including heavy trucks have become loose and rattle w hen driven over. The <br />existing covers allow for easy opening features to access to the valves below. However, access to the <br />valves is required only infrequently, therefore, less easily accessible but more robust replacement covers <br />are desired. <br /> <br />Scope of Services <br />Consultant shall provide Engineering and Surveying Services for the replacement of the force -main and the <br />upgrade replacement of two force-main valve vault covers. Consultant shall coordinate meetings with City <br />staff from the Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) and Engineering & Transportation. <br /> <br />Task 1 – Project Management and Coordination <br />a. Meet with the City staff to review the project objectives, scope, and to coordinate the project. <br />b. Provide QA/QC and monitor schedule and budget <br /> <br />Schedule: <br />1. Meeting 1 - Kick off meeting – within three weeks after Notice to Proceed <br /> <br />Task 2 – Site Investigation, Data Collection, Research Study <br />a. Topographic survey of San Rafael Street from Fulton Ave . to Sybil Ave. <br />i. Inverts and sizes of pipes within sanitary sewer manholes <br />ii. Inverts, pipe sizes and flow direction collected for storm drain lines, manholes and catch basins <br />iii. Visible improvements, driveways and Utilities including USA markings <br />b. Utility locations from utility records will be included into the plans <br />c. Field measurements will be taken at the locations of the two vaults planned for cover replacements <br />i. Three visits with WPCP operations staff to access the vaults shall be required <br /> <br />City Deliverables: <br />1. San Rafael Lift Station As-built Drawings <br />2. Wicks Lift Station Force-main As-built Drawings <br />3. San Rafael Lift Station Data to calculate the daily volume of wastewater transported <br />a. Pump size, Pump runtime, Pump set limits, etc. <br />56
