East 10 Street South A 2 February 19, 2002 Ad Hoc Advisory Committee Current City Council Policy Not applicable Previous City Council Action Not applicable City Council Committee Review and Action The Council Economic Development/Redevelopment Subcommittee held a discussion on the issue of the East 10' Street South Area on October 23, 2001, which was then reported to the full Council on November 5, 2001. On December 17, 2001, the Council passed an Interim Urgency Ordinance and authorized both the formation and funding for preparation of the Development Strategy for the East 14th Street South Area. On January 22, 2002, the City Council extended the Interim Urgency Ordinance to December 17, 2003. Applicable General Plan Policy The emerging draft General Plan provides direction for the East 14th Street Focus Area. The Development Strategy and Interim Ordinance are intended to implement the recommended goals, policies, and actions for this segment of the East 141h Street Focus Area. Permits and/or Variances Granted Not applicable Environmental Review Staff anticipates conducting environmental review on the Development Strategy when the planning effort is concluded and the draft Plan is ready for public hearing. Code Compliance Review Not applicable Board/Commission Findings On January 2, 2002, the Joint Project Area Redevelopment Advisory Committee nominated two of its members for the proposed East 14th Street South Area Advisory Committee that will oversee the Development Strategy planning effort. On the February 6, 2002 meeting, a third member was nominated to the Advisory Committee. On February 7, 2002, the Board of Zoning Adjustments nominated two members to the Advisory Committee.
