The <br />significant activities of the City Clerk include: <br />• Professional and competent service to the City Council, Board and Commission <br />Members, City Departments, and the community. <br />• Preparation of agendas and official minutes of City Council meetings and obtaining <br />signatures on legal documents approved by the City Council. <br />• Official custodian of records for the City. <br />• Coordination of election services and compliance reporting of the Fair Political <br />Practices Commission, including annual disclosure statements for elected officials <br />and designated employees. <br />• Maintenance, updating, and distribution of the City's Municipal and Administrative <br />Codes. <br />• Implementation and supervision of a City-wide records management system. <br />• Receipt of correspondence, summons, subpoenas, and requests for information. <br />• Processing of applications for special City permits, including for nonprofit <br />solicitation and closeout sales. <br />• Supervision of administrative staff support in office; i.e., Office Manager for <br />calendars, scheduling, and information. <br />Current City Council Policy <br />Responsibility for City Clerk duties is assigned to City Manager's Office. <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />Ordinance No. 83-025 <br />City Council Committee Review and Action <br />Not applicable <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />Not applicable <br />
