1844 Bancroft Avenue 2 October 9, 2000 <br />The Planning Commission also recommends, after a public hearing, that the City <br />Council approve the planned development allowing the office use of the commercial <br />building and expansion of the single family home. The recommended Conditions of <br />Approval have been amended in conformance with the Planning Commission comments. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Current City Council Policy <br />• The Zoning Code permits offices in the P Professional zone and in <br />commercial zones. <br />• Placing the property with the remodeled office building in the P Professional <br />zone will bring the existing legal non -conforming use into conformance with <br />the Zoning Code. <br />Previous City Council Action <br />N/A <br />City Council Committee Review and Action <br />N/A <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />Under the current General Plan City Goals and Policies related to land use are the <br />following policies: <br />Page V — 98 Policy 4. All land development, improvement and rehabilitation projects <br />shall fully provide for adequate parking ... and shall provide for <br />improvement of on -site and off -site public facilities without <br />increasing the burden on the existing public facilities or <br />infrastructure. <br />There is presently no parking for the commercial/office building. <br />This proposal will provide a parking lot for the office building <br />conversion that conforms to the Zoning Code parking requirement <br />for office use. <br />Policy 5.
