However, the Committee <br />would be asked to look at other issues that are important to the quality of life in the area. <br />The list of issues to be considered could include: <br />• Traffic <br />• Housing <br />Quality of Rental Housing <br />Maintaining Quality of Single Family Housing <br />Increasing Home Ownership <br />Future Housing Development in the Neighborhood <br />• Neighborhood Appearance <br />Streets and other Public Areas - Street Trees, Signs, Entry Monuments <br />Dilapidated Appearance of Davis Street Recycling and Salvage Uses <br />Community Standards - Neighborhood Preservation, Graffiti, Weeds, etc. <br />• Neighborhood Shopping Centers <br />Visual Character and Appearance <br />Quality of Tenants <br />• Community Services <br />Parks and Libraries <br />• Future Development and Redevelopment <br />Quality Development and Job Producing Uses to Industrial Sites <br />Marina Conference Center <br />• Noise <br />Airport Noise Impacts <br />Traffic, Industrial, or other Noise Issues <br />• Schools and Youth Facilities <br />• Zoning Issues <br />Box Retail <br />Residential/Industrial Adjacency <br />The mission of the committee would be to provide input for a strategic plan for West San Leandro that <br />covers critical neighborhood issues such as traffic, noise, and future development, and prioritizes City <br />initiatives for the district. The committee would follow a process similar to the Affordable Housing <br />Advisory Committee. It would meet once a month to discuss each issue, learn from City staff about existing <br />conditions and improvement programs available, and develop recommendations.
