The cost of the sign and installation
will be paid for by the applicant. The applicant will also be responsible for maintenance costs or
the cost of replacing vandalized or damaged signs.
Attached for your approval is the directional sign policy and colored drawings of the proposed
signs. The color and design of the signs is in keeping with the banner program. The design is
functional and provides a simple, but unique identity that differentiates between the different types
of destinations. The color scheme also differentiates between the various activities. For example,
recreational facilities will be designated by green signs.
We currently have existing signs for some government facilities and for religious institutions.
Many of the religious institution signs are old and are showing signs of wear. These signs will be
surveyed over the next several months and will be replaced by the City at no cost to the original
applicant. Any cost for future replacement signs will be borne by the applicant.
CONCLUSION
With approval, staff will implement the proposed directional sign policy.
140'
