SAN LEANDRO EQUITY PLANPROBLEM STATEMENT: <br />36 <br />Create infrastructure for professional development support and opportunities for <br />women, people of color, LGBTQ, and other intersecting identities. <br />RATIONALE FOR RECOMMENDATION Recommendation is consist- <br />ent with the Council’s goal to “Promote and maintain an inclusive work en- <br />vironment that values employees and volunteer contributions, supports <br />professional growth and development, and fosters a culture of kindness and <br />collaboration in the delivery of services to our community.” <br />Professional development is an important factor in employee retention. Seed’s <br />data findings support the opinion that retaining San Leandro’s diverse workforce <br />is a major City asset and contributes to why employees like working for the City. <br />RECOMMENDATION #9 <br />There is a lack of infrastructure for professional development support for women, people of color, LGBTQ, <br />and other intersecting identities. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS// <br />EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE
