Prola and Alfred J. Fernandes of Board of Zoning <br />Adjustments' approval of CU-95-17: Conditional Use Permit; to Construct a 122- <br />unit, extended -stay hotel (Marriott Residence Inn), including four, two-story <br />buildings, one, three-story building, and parking; 80 San Leandro Marina (South <br />Dike Road and Neptune Drive); Assessor's Parcel Numbers 80G-900-2-2, 4, 1-6; <br />JBN Company/John B. Norton, Applicant; CR Commercial Recreation District. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />The Board of Zoning Adjustments approved the application for a conditional use permit at its <br />December 7, 1995 meeting. The Board of Zoning Adjustments made the required findings, <br />adopted the Negative Declaration, and approved the project subject to conditions of approval. <br />Board of Zoning Adjustments Vote: <br />MSC Mattoon/Badger, 5 ayes, McGallian and Efiason absent <br />On January 2, 1996, James C. Prola and Alfred J. Fernandes appealed the matter to the City <br />Council. This matter has been scheduled for a public hearing before the City Council on <br />February 5, 1996. At the conclusion of the public hearing on the appeal, the City Council <br />may: 1) deny the appeal which would sustain the Board of Zoning Adjustments' approval; 2) <br />direct staff to prepare the findings to uphold the appeal which would reverse the Board's <br />approval of the project; or 3) continue the matter to obtain additional information. <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action: <br />1) Deny the appeal and approve the Conditional Use Permit for a 122-unit, extended <br />stay hotel; <br />2) Approve the Addendum to the Adopted Negative Declaration; <br />3) Approve the Resolution approving Parcel Map 6768. <br />171 <br />
