CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />CITY COUNCIL FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 27, 1996 <br />The City Council Finance Committee convened on February 27, 1996, at City Hall in the City <br />Manager's Large Conference Room. <br />I. 1996-97 Capital Improvement Program (Wandzia/Rockett) <br />Wandzia Grycz-Hernandez - Reviewed the revised C.I.P. process. The revised program includes <br />quality of life types of projects as opposed to just the maintenance of existing facilities. The staff <br />recommendation is that it remain at $2,000,000. <br />Bob Rocket reviewed the C.I.P. Projects and the process used to identify the projects. Bob also <br />reviewed how the C.I.P. project document was organized. <br />Parks Budget - $165,000 proposed. Demolish existing and rebuild modular, prototype restrooms <br />near the seagull area in November and December. <br />Casa Peralta Grounds & Painting <br />Julian Polvorosa - Asked if the retrofit will be complete. Bob Rockett said yes. <br />Thrasher Park Bleachers <br />Julian Polvorosa - Asked if the bleachers were to be replaced with wood. Bob Rockett said the <br />bleachers were made of wood. Council Member Polvorosa suggested that metal might be used to <br />prevent wear and tear. Mayor Corbett suggested the committee get an estimate on recycled <br />plastic vs. wood or other cost-effective material. <br />City Buildings <br />Exterior Painting <br />Julian Polvorosa - Asked if it is necessary for the City to remove the fire fuel tanks at fire stations <br />9, 11 and 13 as stated in a newspaper article. Wandzia will review the article provided by <br />Council Member Polvorosa and report back to the committee. <br />Neighborhood Entryways <br />Mayor Corbett - Asked where the banners would be placed. Wandzia said the areas have not <br />been identified at this time. Garry Loeffler suggested a multi -year time line be developed. <br />1 <br />
