Priority #3: Assist moderate and middle -income first-time homebuyers. <br />Resources Used: <br />The City applied Redevelopment Set -Aside funds to create a First -Time Homebuyer <br />Program and to sponsor a homebuyers' faire, and continued participation in the <br />Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) Program. <br />Activities Undertaken: <br />The First -Time Homebuyer Program, in concert with several local lenders, was <br />created to provide low -interest, deferred -payment loans to qualified low-, moderate-, <br />and middle -income home buyers. During the last year the Agency funded ten second <br />mortgages to low and moderate income homebuyers. <br />The City sponsored and facilitated its Third Annual Homebuyer Information Faire to <br />inform prospective income -eligible first-time homebuyers of the various programs <br />available through the Redevelopment Agency, MCC, and private lenders. <br />The City continued support of the MCC program, which is administered by the <br />County. During the last year, nine certificates were made available to San Leandro. <br />Geographic Distribution: <br />These programs are offered City-wide. <br />Leverage of Non -Federal Resources: <br />N/A <br />Matching Contribution: <br />N/A <br />Actual Investment vs. Planned: <br />The First -Time Homebuyer Program was budgeted at $150,000 and expended <br />$100,000. <br />
