Priority #4: Reduce housing discrimination. <br />Resources Used: <br />The City applied CDBG, Redevelopment Agency Set -Aside, and Section 8 funds to <br />programs during this time period. <br />Activities Undertaken: <br />The City increased the utilization of the Housing Authority's Section 8 vouchers and <br />certificates through education and information programs for owners of rental <br />properties through the Multi -Family Management Assistance Program (MMAP). <br />Several existing Section 8 households moved into San Leandro and approximately 20 <br />new certificates were issued during this time period. The City also worked with the <br />Housing Authority to improve service delivery through the MMAP program. <br />The City maintained its goal of reducing and eliminating housing discrimination <br />through counseling, investigation, mediation, and/or legal action by contracting with <br />ECHO Housing, Inc. for Rental Assistance Program (RAP), tenant/landlord and Fair <br />Housing services. Education efforts included information on handicapped accessibility <br />issues as pertaining to rental property. In coordination with these efforts, the MMAP <br />was utilized as a vehicle to inform owners and managers of their Fair Housing and <br />accessibility obligations. <br />Geographic Distribution: <br />These programs are City wide. <br />Leverage of Non -Federal Resources: <br />N/A <br />Matching Contributions: <br />N/A <br />Actual Investment vs. Planned: <br />No change; contractual obligations were completed. <br />
