SECTION 4 Effective Date and Posting <br />This ordinance shall take effect immediately pursuant to § 1-1-345 of <br />the San Leandro Municipal Code in that it relates to taxes for the usual and current <br />expenses of the City, namely, taxes to pay for emergency medical services. <br />Notwithstanding the effective date of the ordinance, the tax imposed pursuant to this <br />ordinance shall not become operative until submitted to a vote of the electorate at <br />the June 3, 1997 election. If approved by two-thirds of the voters voting at the <br />election, the tax shall become operative ten (10) days following the certification of <br />the results of the election.
