3. Respond to questions from bidders or proposers and clarify or interpret the bidding documents. 4. Attend the bid opening. PHASE FOUR CONSTRUCTION ADNIINISTRATION: Scope of Basic Services The services provided during this phase shall generally be intended to assist the City construction manager in the administration of the construction contract as set forth in the Conditions of the Contract for Construction of the Project. The services to be provided shall include the following: 1. Attend a pre -construction meeting and respond to questions from the construction contractor and sub -contractors. 2. Attend one construction meeting per week, at a time and location to be determined by the City construction manager, to review relevant project issues and to become generally familiar with the progress and quality of the Work and to determine in general if the Work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents. 3. Visit the constriction site as may be required by the City construction manager to address technical issues and site conditions which may arise from time to time during the construction of the Work. Such visits to the construction site shall be made with reasonable promptness as to cause no delay in the construction of the Work. 4. Prepare and distribute reports and communications to the City construction manager to indicate the general progress and quality of the Work and to endeavor to guard the City against defects and deficiencies in the Work based on the observations made during visits to the construction site. 5. Review and approve or take other appropriate action as may be necessary to check shop drawings, product data and samples submitted by the construction contractor for conformance with the information and the design concept indicated in the Contract Documents. The review and approval or other action shall be taken with such reasonable promptness as to cause no delay in the construction of the Work, while allowing for sufficient time to permit adequate review. The review of such submittal shall not be conducted for the purpose of determining the accuracy and completeness of the other detail such as dimensions and quantities or for substantiating instructions for installation or performance of equipment or systems designed by the construction contractor, all of which shall remain the sole responsibility of the construction contractor to the extent required by the Contract Documents.
