Task 2: Background/Base Materials <br />A. Compile/Format Base Maps —Per staff meeting, coordinate photo reproduction, printing, etc., <br />as needed. <br />B. Site Conditions/Photography—Tour MacArthur Boulevard plan area; photograph conditions <br />and annotate base maps as needed for subsequent reference at meetings, workshops and in <br />preparing design recommendations. <br />Task 3: Existing Conditions Assessment <br />A. Issues Map —Based on the staff meeting and site conditions review, prepare annotated <br />map/graphic that highlights major subareas, conditions, and issues affecting design <br />recommendations. This graphic will serve as a reference at subsequent meetings and <br />workshops. Subarea segments may be determined based on fronting development conditions, <br />roadway/cross-section configurations, and/or geographic context. Extent of segments will be <br />determined with staff and the RAC. <br />B. Preliminary Options/Cost Assessment —Based on the existing conditions assessment, identify <br />possible design options and ballpark costs for preliminary discussion with staff and the RAC <br />(see Task 4, below). <br />Task 4: Staff/RAC Review/Work Meeting #1 <br />Review and discuss existing conditions, subareas, and design goals. Outline preliminary options, <br />costs, and traffic engineering requirements. It is assumed that assistance related to traffic <br />engineering recommendations will be provided by City of San Leandro engineering staff as needed. <br />Mock up design ideas with RAC and staff for presentation at Workshop #1. <br />Task 5: Design Options/Illustrations <br />The products described below will be prepared to facilitate discussion of district character and <br />design goals and preferences. <br />A. Key Plan/Subareas Map (])—Prepare map of overall MacArthur Boulevard Master Plan area, <br />indicating subareas and keyed locations for design option (see Task 5b, below). <br />B. Subarea Segment Design Options (8)—Prepare up to two design options for each of four <br />possible subarea segments of MacArthur Boulevard. Design options will consist of to -scale <br />typical plan view and cross-section sketches, including the public ROW and adjacent privately - <br />owned frontages, with annotations indicating design elements and pros and cons. <br />C.
