(fiber count) and the size and type of conduit to be used for new installations. Identify the location of fiber <br />splice boxes and lateral connections for initial and future applications. <br />Determine the placement and interconnection of the video switch, fiber transceivers, monitors, and control <br />keypad at City Hall. Determine the routing of coaxial cable and keypad cable between the switch and the <br />monitors/keypad. Investigate the feasibility of providing a digitized video link, including any equipment at <br />the City Hall, to the Caltrans TMC in Oakland to enable Caltrans personnel to view the City cameras. <br />Assist City with control room and workstation console layout including placement of TMC equipment. <br />This project does not provide any communications to Caltrans signals, field masters, or central computer. <br />Deliverables: Preliminary sketches illustrating the design concepts. <br />Construction cost estimates. <br />Present the concept design to Caltrans and the City for review and approval. <br />Modify design details if needed to obtain approval to proceed with the PS&E. <br />Delivery Schedule: 6 weeks after Notice to Proceed. <br />Task 2 - PS&E for Fiber and CCTV System <br />Prepare plans, specifications (special provisions), and final cost estimate for the fiber and video system <br />designed in Task 1. Provide submittal PS&E documents at the 85% and 100% milestone points for City's <br />review. Submit an encroachment permit application to Caltrans. Sign and seal the approved final plans, <br />specifications and estimates ready for advertising. The City will provide the remainder of the contract <br />documents, make the bid packages, and arrange advertising and distribution of the bid packages. <br />Deliverables: 85% PS&E submittal for review. <br />Encroachment permit application. <br />100% PS&E submittal for bid documents. <br />Delivery Schedule: 85% submittal, 10 weeks after Notice to Proceed. <br />100% submittal, 3 weeks after receipt of comments on 85% submittal. <br />Task 3 - Construction Management Assistance <br />Assist the City during construction, including: <br />• Respond to questions from contractors and equipment suppliers/installers. <br />• Review equipment submittals. <br />• Help resolve issues arising during construction and equipment installation. <br />• Assist in acceptance testing and punch list preparation. <br />• Assist City staff to setup, interconnect, configure, and start up equipment at the control center, and <br />review operating manuals. <br />• Assist in troubleshooting equipment, arranging repair/replacement of faulty equipment, and dealing <br />with suppliers over faulty equipment. <br />• Attend and assist in training sessions for City staff by equipment vendors. <br />• Assist in labeling and documenting the system configuration for users. <br />Agreement Page 4 of 18 <br />3/7/94 Rev. <br />
