• Assist in preparing demonstrations and presentations for visitors. <br />• Assist in preparing press releases and fact sheets. <br />Deliverables: Construction assistance. <br />Documentation and Training. <br />Delivery Schedule: <br />Construction assistance - 15 weeks (begins eight weeks after 100% PS&E submittal) <br />Documentation and Training - 6 weeks (begins eight weeks after the construction start) <br />Task 4 - Design of Metricom Radio Link to Traffic Signals <br />Identify the software modifications needed to use the Metricom wireless network for communications with <br />signal controllers. Work with Econolite to determine the most cost effective approach and negotiate the <br />most favorable price for making the software changes in the controllers. Provide assistance to the City to <br />negotiate with Metricom the most favorable rates for the packet data service and modems. Modify the <br />design approach, if needed, to fit within the budget allocated for this work. If proposed cost for this task is <br />too expensive, identify an alternative approach for communicating with remote controllers from fiber or <br />interconnect cable, or identify other items that could be installed under this phase. If the Metricom <br />solution is feasible, prepare a detailed specification and schedule for the work. <br />Deliverables: Metricom implementation plan, if feasible, and/or other signal communication <br />alternatives. <br />Delivery Schedule: 8 weeks after Notice to Proceed. <br />Task 5 - Implementation of Metricom Radio Link to Traffic Signals <br />This task will be undertaken only if it is found feasible and affordable in Task 4. <br />Modify the ICONS and controller software to enable communications via the Metricom radio network. <br />Test the operation and demonstrate successful operation in bench tests prior to field installation. <br />Obtain and install Metricom radio modems in 20 signal controller cabinets, and wireline modems at the <br />central computer. Install the modified ICONS and controller software. Implement field communications <br />via Metricom and test the operation. Make corrective changes as needed to obtain reliable on -going <br />communications. Provide documentation of the software changes and any changes to the Operating <br />Manuals. <br />Deliverables: Installation of Metricom links, after approval of Task 4. <br />Delivery Schedule: 32 weeks after Completion of Task 4. <br />Agreement Page 5 of 18 <br />3/7/94 Rev. <br />
