Consolidated Plan Annual Performance Report — FY 2001-2002 <br />City of San Leandro <br />Page 10 <br />Activities Undertaken: <br />The City collaborated with Alameda County Consortium jurisdictions through its <br />participation in the Continuum of Care Council, HOME Technical Advisory Committee <br />and investment in regional homeless projects. The City also contributed CDBG funds to <br />the Continuum of Care Fund Development Team. <br />Geographic Distribution and Location of Expenditures: <br />The continuum of care and regional homeless projects are offered countywide. <br />Leverage of Non -Federal Resources: <br />N/A <br />Matching Contributions: <br />N/A <br />SUPPORTIVE HOUSING NEEDS <br />Priority: Increase the availability of service -enriched housing for persons <br />with special needs. <br />Resources Used: <br />The City applied Redevelopment Housing CDBG and HOME funds to further this <br />priority. <br />Activities Undertaken: <br />The City supported local and regional projects that serve people with special needs. <br />Housing Alliance <br />n A HOME fund allocation was added to the CDBG award made last year. The funds <br />will be used toward the construction of 27 units of affordable rental housing for <br />persons with disabilities and for formerly homeless persons. <br />San Leandro Senior Housing <br />C) The San Leandro Senior Housing, Inc., a non-profit affiliate of American Baptist <br />Homes of the West, received additional Redevelopment Set -Aside financing in June <br />2002 to meet the construction cost gap. Other funds awarded in FY 2000-2001 <br />included a HUD Section 202 loan, a HUD Section 108 loan, and an in -lieu payment <br />from a private developer. San Leandro Senior Housing, Inc. will begin construction <br />on 60 units of affordable senior housing in October 2002. <br />0 FESCO Emergency Shelter Coalition (FESCO) Transitional Housing <br />The FESCO Mid -Length project is described in Homeless Needs, page 8. <br />
